DESCRIPTION:Black Rehearsal T-shirts  \nA very important rehearsal with the massed choir of 500+ singers. Members should wear their black rehearsal t-shirts. Please bring water.  \nPlease leave plenty of time for parking. On arrival you will be redirected to GROVE STREET (by Barnsley Football Club) to access the overspill car park. It is then a very short walk up to the Arena. You will enter the Metrodome via the back main Arena door – not the main front doors.  \nOn arrival you will need to be registered and given a special performer’s wristband for the weekend so please do leave plenty of time to do this. It’s really important that we have time to register you and organise seating before 5.45pm.

Members will then need to leave the church and return ready for\nthe concert in concert dress (black with a splash of red) by no later than\n6:30pm. The concert is from 7pm-9:30pm with a 20 minute interval. \nPlease note there is no parking at Emmanuel\, please use the local area but\nbe respectful of local residents. There are a limited number of disabled\nparking spaces available and these will be provided only to those who hold a\nBlue Disabled Parking Badge. If you require a space please bring your badge\nto rehearsal on Tuesday and you will be added to the list. These spaces are\non a first come first served basis. \nWe will be holding a raffle during the concert\, if you have any prizes that\nyou could donate please could you bring these to rehearsal. \nWe also still need some non-singing volunteers to help out at the Concert to\nhelp man the car park\, take tickets\, sell programmes and raffle tickets and\nhelp seat guests in the church. Concert End.\n\nPlease note if you are planning on staying between the rehearsal and concert\, please remember to bring concert dress that you can change into.\n\nAttending\n\nWe need to know how many members are planning to take part in the concert. It is really important we know this information so we can plan accordingly. If you cannot attend this then sadly you will be unable to take part in the concert. The password is BS@6thForm. I know some members have been asking about downloading tracks and we are aware that this is an issue for some at present – we are however looking at ways we can resolve this situation and will let you know in due course. \n\nI have asked Chris if he can do a section on the Members Area where all the songs are together as he did for us for the Christmas concert. As soon as this is done I will let you know. \n\nSolos \n\nThere will be an opportunity to try out for some of the solo parts during rehearsals on Tuesday 23rd and Tuesday 30th April. \n\nWe need soloists for the following songs:\n\nUkuthula – 3 soloists needed\n\nAngel\n\nSomething Inside So Strong \n\nAfrica\n\nRaffle Prizes\n\nWe will be doing a raffle on the day of the concert! If anyone has anything they wish to donate please bring them to the rehearsal on the day!\n\nVolunteers\n\nConcert days are always really busy days and require lots of help and support on the day! Therefore we are asking members if they know of anyone who could help us in the evening. We will need people from around 6pm-10pm\n\nJobs will include \n\n 	Selling raffle tickets and drawing them \n 	Selling programmes\n 	Helping people to their seats if needed\n 	Showing VIPs to their seats\n\nIf you know of anyone who would like to help us out – please can you let me know so we can arrange roles. \n\nIf volunteers could arrive at 6pm please in a Barnsley Singers t-shirt if you have one or a plain black one if you don’t have one. \n\nDress\n\nWe will be wearing rehearsal t-shirts for our afternoon rehearsal and then Concert Dress at night!\n\nDress for the evening is concert dress which is black with a splash of red! You can see photos of our previous concerts for ideas. Sensible and comfortable shoes are a must! We will be spending lots of time on our feet so please wear something that is comfortable. It was very warm last year and so could possibly be again. Please bear this in mind in relation to your dress choice. \n\nWater/Food\n\nAs Luke always says it is important to be hydrated before we start to sing\, Luke mentioned about it taking around 4 hours for it to begin to work so be drinking plenty of water the day before and during the morning. The Civic were very good last year at ensuring we had water available throughout the day but please ensure you come prepared. \n\nYou may also want to bring a few snacks for rehearsal and the break. Can we please ask you to also avoid bringing any products that contain nuts or peanuts. \n\nHousekeeping\n\nWe ask all members to ensure that they clean up after themselves and that they ensure the venue is clean and tidy with items placed back where they belong before we leave on the Saturday. The more that helps out the quicker it gets done. \n\nParking\n\nThere is no parking at the Civic but there are plenty of Pay and Display car parks located close by. \n\nCode of Conduct\n\nI want to take this opportunity before a big event to remind everyone of our Code of Conduct. When performing at concerts or events we are representing our organisation and it is important we do this in a manner that reflects the kind of organisation we are. Please take some time between now and Saturday to re-familiarise yourself with this document. It also contains thorough information about our dress code.\n\nTickets\n\nTickets will be on sale via the Barnsley Civic Website. As soon as these go on sale we will send you all the details. \n\nDrinks After\n\nI know there are usually plans to potentially go for a drink after the concert is over – we aren’t sure of the venue yet but everyone is welcome to join us. It is always a great way to finish the evening after such an amazing event! \n\nThat’s all for now.
